Sandy's Scrapping and Sewing

I love digital arts especially scrapbooking, but every so often I just have to make something beautiful with my hands. Zipping fabric through a machine is - well it's just exhilarating. Sewing was my first creative love and will always be a passion for me.

My February Quilting Goals

Finally I am here to post again. I thought I was going to have a great start to 2011 and then I ended up with knee pain, trouble walking, on to crutches, followed by knee surgery, and now I am in PT. So I am off to one slow start.

My sewing goals for January and February? Let's see now this gets easier since January is gone.

For February I would like to:

1) Finish my Kansas Troubles Swap blocks I started in January
Here is the lovely fabric cut in strips and ready to sew:

2) Make a table runner for the living room to cover a pizza box white stain *arg* on my teak coffee table. Pattern is French Roses and fabric is mostly Martinique, one of my all time favorite collections.

And the fabric came all folded up in this neat little stack, don't you love to get fabric like this?

3) Complete a quilt top for someone very special. shhh it is a surprise! I will show you the fabrics when they come in :) More to come on this...... and it may continue on into March.

4) Make some cupcake hot pads. Sweet, huh? Take a look at this cute pattern, isn't it darling?

Thanks for stopping by, and please leave me a comment so I know you were here! I hope you get to quilt or scrapbook today!

Thursday, December 2, 2010

One of my goals for December is to give a gift each day in December. Today I managed to give three gifts. So that should cover me for tomorrow, too.

1) I gave a 1969 Auburn cookbook to a friend at work.
2) I made a layout for my neighbor of her son and new daughter-in-law on their wedding day.
3) I helped a friend resolve a problem, it was kind of a unexpected blessing for them.

The only one I can share, because it is digital is the layout. So here it is:

Allure

Thanks for reading, and I would love for you to leave me a comment so I know you stopped by.

Today’s Mama Gamestop Giveaway

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme

TodaysMama and GameStop are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What is your holiday wish for your family?
My holiday wish for my family is that we can gather and enjoy one another's company, that we can look beyond our differences and choose to love each other.

2. What is your Christmas morning tradition?
Coffee, presents, breakfast, fun!

3. If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be?
New floors throughout the house.

4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
Decorating the house and visiting places that are beautifully decorated. Enjoying Christmas Cantatas, and giving what I can to those less fortunate.

5. What games did you play with your family growing up?
Card games with my Sister and jigsaw puzzles with my Dad.

6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
Opening one fist on Christmas eve, and getting together with family.

7. Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip?
I would go to Key West, Florida or to Europe to visit the Bavarian Christmas Markets.

8. Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year?
Xbox 360, Fable III, and Beautiful Katamari.
